IWhy this exists
We spend most of our lives working. We don't always have people to talk to about it.
Between the building and the deciding, few of us have someone to talk to about what a hard week costs. Main Hall sets a table for that.

The people at a Main Hall table don't all speak the same professional language, and that's the point. You learn the most from someone whose week looks nothing like yours.

The shape of an evening
Come once and you'll know the rhythm. It doesn't change much, on purpose.
Gather
Eight or nine people to a table, most of them strangers when you sit down. Nobody's on a stage or working the room.
Talk
A few good questions get things going. People say what they think about the work and what shapes it.
Learn
You hear how a nurse thinks through a hard call, or how a founder sits with a bad month. The jobs differ; the questions underneath them rarely do.
Share
You can say what's going well and what isn't, without dressing it up. Nobody flinches.
Eat
There's always a meal, and the conversation that sticks tends to happen over it.

Main Hall keeps meeting. Some evenings are large gatherings, some are small dinners, and the conversations tend to run long after the plates are cleared.
You pull up a chair, come back when you can, and get to know the people who keep showing up.

These are the convictions Main Hall is built on. They're the reason we think it's worth doing.
Every calling has dignity.
The world ranks work by prestige and pay. We don't. Work that serves people has dignity, whoever does it.
Success is a poor finish line.
Growth and achievement are good, but they aren't the goal. Who you become while you build matters more than what you build.
No one builds alone.
Good work is rarely a solo effort. You need people who tell you the truth and stay when it gets hard.
Faith belongs in everyday work.
For many of us, faith shows up on a Tuesday as much as a Sunday, in how we lead and hire and treat people.
Work is part of a larger story.
We believe our work has a place in what God is doing to make things whole. That belief is why Main Hall exists.

- Entrepreneurs, professionals, people in the trades and the arts, folks in government and ministry, students. If you work, you'd fit in.

- No. Real connections come out of it, but nobody's working the room or pitching you anything.
- Do I need to be a business owner or a leader?
- No. Title and career stage don't matter at this table.
- Is this a religious event?
- Faith is part of who we are, and it comes up honestly. Nobody will ask you to believe a certain way to keep your seat.
- Can I come if I'm still figuring things out?
- Yes. Most of us are.
